Back To School Child Photo Contest

Submit a recent photo of your school aged little one (children between 4-12 years of age).
Send your ONE favorite picture to me via email (michelle@michellemasserphotography.com). Be sure to add the child’s first name and which SCHOOL your child attends. I will then post the picture to a special contest album on my Facebook fan page.
Join my Michelle Masser Photography fan page.
Send people (your friends, family, co-workers, etc.) to join my Facebook fan page and VOTE for their favorite picture (i.e. YOURS!)
The winner will be announced on September 23, 2010 based on the total number of likes for each entered image. A person must be a fan of my Facebook fan page to like a photo.

The Rules

Entries must be submitted by September 14, 2010. I will post all entries on September 15, 2010, and the voting will begin immediately!!
ONE entry per person.
ONE vote per person!
Voting will continue from September 15, 2010 through September 22, 2010! Winner will be announced on September 23, 2010!
Submitted images must be of a child 4-12 years of age.
Photos taken by professional photographers will not be accepted.

The winner will receive a $425 complimentary photo shoot and a CD with the best shots in full-resolution with a print release! YES you read that right, $425 value!!! The session will take place in Hagerstown, MD and must be redeemed by November 22, 2010. A signed model release will also be required prior to the session. Let the fun begin!

Local “shoot out” event

Attended a local networking event with other photographers. Rodney Cool of Aesthetic Life Studio was the organizer and he hired a beautiful model, Kirsten. There were about 10 photographers that joined us at the Renfrew Park in Waynesboro, PA. This was a great event and I met many fabulous photographers.

I recently did an assignment for the Hagerstown Magazine. This story was about a young boy, named Jason Barron, who died serving his country during WWII. Sixty years later Jason’s family was contacted by a French man who found his helmet on his farm and kept it all these years. An invitation was extended to the family to claim his helmet. The family accepted this invitation and traveled to the place where Jason’s life ended. The family was treated like royalty by the entire town. Memorials and celebrations occurred during their stay. The family was touched by the deep gratitude that was extended to them even after 60 years of the war’s end. Linda and Brian Heinrich wrote a book titled, Jason’s Helmet and have been speaking to civic groups to share their experience. This spring the group plans to meet again in the states.

Trying out the new blog

I just received a blog makeover and wanted to add some new pictures to it. These are some new favorites from the Brianna Graham workshop. I had alot of aspirations of possible posts but when I sat down to write them my inspiration escapes me. So I thought any post is better than none and today is a good day write anything….as I have but one lonely post on my blog. Hopefully more great inspirational posts to come!!
